SEVERE THUNDERSTORM HITS MIDDLETOWN AREA - ROADS CLOSEDAugust 21, 2009 The City of Middletown Police Department responded to numerous calls of tree's and wires down in the city as a result of a severe thunderstorm that struck Middletown at 2:55 this afternoon. The department responded to 10 reports of wires or trees down shortly after the storm hit. In addition the department responded to multiple alarms as a result of power outages. As of 5PM Friday afternoon the following roads are closed: - Highland View Place - Davidge Road - Oak Ridge Road There are also partial closures on Highland Ave. In addition power is out in several areas of the city. The City of Middletown DPW and Orange and Rockland Untilities are working to remove the tree's and wires and reopen the roads.
