MAN INJURED INTERUPTING BURGLARY
October 19, 2009

A Middletown man suffered a head injury after he interrupted a burglary at his residence on Saturday afternoon.

A resident of Prospect Ave told police that he returned home to his apartment to find his front door lock broken off. After speaking to a neighbor the victim was confronted by a white male approximately 5’6” with long hair in his apartment. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded money from the victim. After telling the suspect that he did not have any money, the suspect struck the victim in the head with the gun causing a laceration. The victim then did turn over cash. In addition the suspect took some hand tools before fleeing the scene. The suspect had his face partially covered and his head was covered by a hoodie.

The victim was transported by Mobile Life to Orange Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.

“The suspect caused an injury to the victim while attempting to run from the scene, said Middletown Police Chief Matthew Byrne. “We are looking for some help from the public to get this suspect off the streets”.
