Middletown Police make arrest in graffiti cases
01/21/2010

The Middletown Police have arrested three city residents in connection with graffiti "tagging".
Two of the subjects: both 16 year old males, were arrested for spray painting walls at four locations in the City's first ward. The subjects, using black and white paint, spray painted "Locos" and "LCSX9" and admitted that they were "tagging" buildings.
Both subjects were charged with making graffiti which is a class "A" misdemeanor.
A third subject, Martin Mendez, of 9 Courtland St. 22 interfered with the arrests of the two 16 year olds and was arrested and charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
The Middletown Police and the Mayor of the City of Middletown are committed to the reduction of graffiti and are pursuing a code enforcement component to work with the Police Department to curb the unsightly presence of graffiti on our streets.
