Mission Statement

Mulberry House Senior Center GraphicThe Senior Citizen Programs are run through the City of Middletown, where we are committed to serving the retirees, well elderly, and frail elderly in our community. Our goal is to encourage, educate, assist and enhance life in retirement. Through activities such as exercise, yoga, art, theater, group meetings, crafts, and music our hope is to provide the tools necessary to live a quality-filled and healthier life as one ages. We also promote interaction between generations; exchanging skills, values and experiences.

The City of Middletown provides many Senior Citizen services and activities for seniors to enjoy while making new friends through the Mulberry House Senior Center. The center offers the following services: AARP Smart Driving Course, tax-aide and e-filing, health and exercise classes (T.O.P.S.), a computer lab for providing classes, and computer practice time for all learning levels. Help is also available with Health Insurance problems and Food Stamps applications. The Middletown Golden Age Seniors and the AARP Chapter Number 1441 meet at the center. Mulberry House is a Retired Senior Volunteer Program site. Many volunteers participate in groups such as: "The Mulberry House Players" drama group, Crafts, or as office receptionists In addition the City also provides a door-to-door Senior Shuttle Bus Program. Transportation services are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Sundays from 8 am to 12:30 pm to persons 60 years of age and older who live in our City for a minimal suggested donation of $1 per ride.
